I first tried this butter when I lived in Virginia. It's sold at Farm Fresh Supermarkets. The local bakery was sampling it with their fresh Irish soda bread. I'll say this much... that butter is amazing. Put it with Irish soda bread and it's simply divine. It's almost like eating cake, it's that good. The butter is so sweet and creamy, unlike American salty butters. It is pricey, but it's so very much worth it. I love putting it on my toast and I've gotten my friends addicted to it to. It's worth every delicious, mouth-watering bite. Long before Kerrygold was ever heard of - in fact, as far back as written records go - dairying has played a starring role in Ireland. In the old days, Irishmen kept cattle for milk more than for meat, and status was derived from the bounty of your herd./pPHow did cows become the cornerstone of Irish wealth? Simple. Ireland was made for milk. It has everything you need to make a cow happy: good soil, a mild climate, moisture-bearing southwesterly winds, and all the green grass you can chew./pPIt didn't take long to figure out that happy cows produce amazing milk, which can then be churned into unbeatable butter. As early as the 17th century, Ireland was sharing its butter with the world. Irish boats were being met at the dock by salivating Swedes, Danes, Portuguese, Frenchmen, Spaniards and American colonists - just as Kerrygold butter is today./pP The butter is so appealingly golden that it looks as though it has been colored, although the color is natural, coming from the beta-carotene in the intense green Irish grass consumed by the cows. Made in the style of all premium European butters, Kerrygold's higher fat content gives its butter a distinctive richness. The foil wrapper preserves freshness and premium quality

Petit Suisse Chocolate Yogurt - French yogurt - 6 pcs, France. Generally because of its name, one thinks that the petit-suisse was created in Switzerland. In fact, it was born in Normandy, but its father came from Switzerland. In the 1850's, a Swiss employee in a dairy of Auvilliers (near Beauvais) suggested to the owner of the dairy, to add cream to the pastry used to produce bonbons. Charles Gervais, whose society was well-known for its double cremes, saw immediately the interest of that product and made the petit suisse one of the most important product of its society. It also created a really efficient distribution system, especially to deliver quickly its products to Paris, first by using horse drawn vehicle and later by trucks. The "petit-suisse" also benefits of the know-how of the Pommel society, the Gervais society rival and neighbor at the beginning of the 20th century. At the start the "petit suisses" were sold wrapped in a thin band of paper and placed six by six in a small wood crate.

Plugra Unsalted Butter (1 pound) by igourmet.com Review

This is an excellent butter, however this price that it is being offered at seems excessive. We can get it locally for .49-.49/lb. Plugrá, (pronounced PLOO GRA), is a European style butter, lower in moisture and higher in butterfat than conventional butters. Plugrá butter imparts a richer taste and smoother texture to foods and is long preferred by leading chefs, bakers, confectioners and anyone who appreciates fine food.p/pRegular butter contains 82% butterfat. The remaining 18% consists of water and milk solids. Plugrá European Style Butter contains 2% more butterfat and is slow-churned in a way that creates a lower-moisture, creamier texture than other butters.p/pPlugrá butter contains less water than regular butter. Lower moisture means that cakes will rise higher, cookies will crisp more evenly and pie crusts or croissants will be flakier. A higher butterfat content means that all your baked goods will taste better when baked with Plugrá butter.
